About Driftsmoke

Driftsmoke is a national jobs board for the fire service. Our goal is simple: bring every firefighter, paramedic, EMT, and fire-officer opening in the country into one place, so the people who run toward danger don't have to dig through thirty different websites to find their next role.

Why we built it

Fire service hiring is scattered. A single county might post jobs across a civil-service system, a city careers portal, a handful of vendor platforms, and a PDF taped to a station wall. For a candidate willing to relocate for the right role, there was no single place to look. We're building that place.

How our data works

We start from the authoritative national directory of fire departments — tens of thousands of agencies — and layer live openings on top, gathered automatically from departments' own official hiring sources. Departments can also submit listings directly, which we review before publishing. Every posting links back to the department's official application, so you always apply directly with the agency.
