Enterprise Fire Department

The Enterprise Fire Department protects the residents of Enterprise, Alabama, operating from four stations across the city: Central, Northside, Eastside, and Westside. The department fielded over 4,200 emergency calls in 2022, spanning fire, rescue, medical, and other emergencies and natural disasters.

The department is staffed by roughly 55 personnel, including a fire chief, four battalion chiefs, twelve captains, and thirty-six firefighters, supported by a fleet maintenance officer and an administrative assistant. Every firefighter is certified through the Alabama Firefighter Personnel Standards Commission and licensed as a Nationally Registered EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic through the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Enterprise holds an ISO Class 2 rating, placing it among the top 5% of departments in Alabama and roughly the top 6.5% nationwide. The department also maintains an aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) capability and a burn building training facility, and it stays active in the community through smoke detector and KnoxBox programs, station tours, and school visits.
