Department careers page ↗Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department (BFMRD) is a full-time, career fire and EMS agency serving the City of Buckeye in the West Valley of the Phoenix metro area. The department operates from seven fire stations and employs more than 100 members, with more stations planned as the city continues to grow. BFMRD provides fire suppression and advanced life support medical response, but does not run its own ambulance transport service — patient transports in the city are handled by the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority.
Beyond emergency response, the department maintains dedicated technical rescue and hazardous materials teams, runs a Community Paramedicine program for recently discharged or chronically ill residents, and operates a Fire Cadet program that introduces young people to firefighting skills, EMS, and the fire board interview process. The department is organized under a Fire Chief with two Assistant Fire Chiefs, a Deputy Chief, and battalion chiefs overseeing training, EMS, and resource management.
MissionWe serve the community, preventing and responding to all emergencies with professionalism and compassion.
