About City of Nogales

The City of Nogales Fire Department protects a border community whose daytime population swells to more than 100,000 people across roughly 21 square miles. Operating on an "all hazards" model, it delivers fire suppression, emergency medical care, community risk reduction, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue.

The department runs two stations (Fire Station 301 and 302) with an apparatus fleet of three engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit, and three brush trucks, answering roughly 3,000 calls for service a year. Its work is organized into EMS, Fire Prevention, Fire Suppression, Public Outreach, and Special Operations divisions.

Because of its location on rugged terrain along the border, the department coordinates closely with Border Patrol, CBP, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff, and neighboring fire districts, and maintains specialty capabilities in hazmat, wildland and search operations, technical rope rescue, and swiftwater rescue for the area's flash-flood-prone washes.

MissionMembers dedicate efforts to provide safety and welfare through preservation of life, health, and property with highly trained staff and a productive work environment.
