About West Stanislaus County Fire Protection District

West Stanislaus County Fire Protection District was established in 1935 under California's Fire District Act and has grown into a six-station organization covering roughly 625 square miles of western Stanislaus County, including the cities of Patterson and Newman and the communities of Crows Landing, Westley, El Solyo, and Diablo Grande.

The district is staffed entirely by volunteer firefighters and EMTs, with around 80-85 volunteers responding out of six stations, two of which provide round-the-clock coverage. Its apparatus fleet includes ten engines (six Type I and four Type III), three water tenders, three rescue vehicles, an air unit, and a quint/aerial truck.
