About Aurora Fire Rescue

Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) is the municipal fire and rescue department for the City of Aurora, Colorado, operating from its headquarters on East Alameda Parkway. The department frames its work around "human-centered care," combining emergency response with a strong community-risk-reduction focus.

AFR maintains a network of stations across the city and publishes its planning publicly, including a Community Risk Assessment / Standards of Cover, annual reports, and a strategic plan. Its programs span life safety and fire prevention education, community risk reduction, and emergency response.

The department recruits in defined cycles for both entry-level and experienced (lateral) firefighters, using the National Testing Network for candidate assessment.

MissionTo positively impact the safety, well-being, and sense of security to our community by providing expert quality, human-centered care.
