The district covers more than 186 square miles of mountain terrain and serves roughly 25,000 year-round residents, a number that swells dramatically during the resort tourism seasons. Stations include Station 12 in Edwards, with apparatus staged in Cordillera and Beaver Creek.

Beyond structure and wildfire suppression, the district delivers emergency medical care, hazardous materials response, technical rope and swiftwater/ice rescue, and community risk reduction programs suited to its resort-and-backcountry environment.
