Department careers page ↗Loveland Fire Rescue Authority (LFRA) is a joint agency created through consolidation of the City of Loveland and the Loveland Rural Fire Protection District. It sits about 50 miles north of Denver in the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains and covers roughly 248 square miles serving just over 110,000 residents.
The department fields about 119 sworn members alongside 15 volunteers, 4 seasonal staff, and 16 civilian professionals. It operates 10 fire stations: 7 staffed around the clock with a minimum of 3 personnel each, 2 volunteer stations, and 1 aircraft rescue firefighting station at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport.
LFRA runs 9 full-time companies (6 engines, a rapid-response Squad, an aerial truck, and a heavy rescue unit) and delivers fire suppression, EMS, technical rescue, hazmat response, wildfire mitigation, and community risk reduction. It maintains a 25-acre Regional Training Center and recently expanded its service area through a 2025 inclusion election.
