Department careers page ↗Southeast Weld Fire Protection District (SEWFPD) has protected the rural stretch of southeastern Weld County and northern Adams County, Colorado since its formation in 1954. Operating out of three stations in Keenesburg and Roggen, the district covers roughly 492 square miles, including the Town of Keenesburg, the unincorporated communities of Prospect Valley and Roggen, and long stretches of I-76, Highway 52, and Highway 79, serving an estimated 7,500 year-round residents plus highway travelers.
SEWFPD runs a combination department, staffing career firefighters on A, B, and C shifts alongside a reserve firefighter program, and maintains mutual and automatic aid agreements with neighboring fire and ambulance agencies. Crews respond to structure and wildland fires, emergency medical calls, vehicle accidents along the interstate and state highways, and other rescue and hazard incidents, with many members holding advanced Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Instructor, and Fire Officer certifications.
MissionTo provide fire prevention, suppression, emergency medical, rescue and related emergency services to the residents of the Southeast Weld Fire Protection District.
SEWFPD recruits both career and reserve firefighters and participates in the Northern Colorado Firefighter Recruitment Consortium (NCFRC), which coordinates testing and hiring information across eight northern Colorado fire departments.
