Coral Gables Fire & Rescue Department protects a Miami-Dade County community of more than 50,000 residents from three fire stations across the city. Fire Chief and Emergency Manager Marcos De La Rosa, appointed in 2016 after 24 years with the Hialeah Fire Department, leads a department of more than 147 personnel supported by a deputy chief, three division chiefs, and an administrative supervisor.

The department runs 24-hour, year-round operations covering fire suppression, advanced and basic life support emergency medical services, rescue operations, fire prevention and life-safety inspections, public fire and life-safety education, emergency management, and public information.

Beyond emergency response, Coral Gables firefighters run an active community-outreach program: daily blood pressure checks at the stations, monthly Community Response Team and CPR/AED certification classes, a 10-week Fire Cadet program for teens, station tours for schools, and Safe Haven for Newborns infant-surrender services at every staffed station.
