Since then, Crestview has grown considerably with the addition of rail lines, two major highways, an interstate system, and an airport, along with the support of two nearby military installations. Today the department serves a city population of about 26,000, with combined unincorporated surrounding areas approaching 60,000 residents.
The department operates from three fire stations. Station 1 doubles as the Public Safety Center for the city's fire and police services and houses administrative operations. Station 2 is staffed 24/7 and covers the southern portion of the city, from Interstate 10 south to Antioch Road. Station 3 also serves as a hurricane shelter and houses backup communications for fire and police operations.
