About Deland Fire Department

DeLand Fire Department protects the city of DeLand, Florida from three stations (81, 82, and 83), operating around the clock alongside neighboring Volusia County Fire Services under a closest-unit auto-aid response plan first implemented in 2003, so the nearest apparatus responds regardless of jurisdictional lines.

The department's scope covers fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue disciplines (trench/excavation, high-angle/rope, confined space, vehicle and machinery extrication, cell tower, and building collapse), hazardous materials response, fire prevention inspections, and public education. New firefighters complete 492 hours of firefighter training in addition to EMT or paramedic certification, and the department runs an ongoing annual training program covering company-level skills, hazmat, driver training, and officer development.

Led by Fire Chief Todd B. Allen, the department frames its work around a vision of becoming the most efficient, effective, and safest all-hazards response agency in Volusia County.

MissionTo provide our citizens and visitors with the highest level of life safety and property protection available.
