Department careers page ↗Deltona Fire & Rescue traces its roots back more than sixty years to a small group of volunteers who came together to help their neighbors, and has since grown into a modern, professional department serving the entire city. Today the department operates from five fire stations spread across Deltona, staffing paramedic-level engines, ambulances, aerials, and battalion units to deliver Advanced Life Support care alongside fire suppression.
Beyond structural firefighting, the department maintains technical rescue capability covering confined space, trench, rope, water rescue, and machinery extrication, plus hazardous materials mitigation. Under a closest-unit response agreement with Volusia County, either a Deltona Fire ambulance or a Volusia County EMS unit responds to transport calls, with the city retaining billing rights for its own units.
The department also runs an active community risk-reduction program, including free smoke alarm installations, CPR classes, fire safety presentations, child car seat safety checks, youth firesetter intervention, and station tours for school groups.
MissionTo prevent the loss of life and property, through fire prevention & life safety education, be innovative and prepared to safely and effectively mitigate all-hazards, while treating those we serve and our team members as family.
