Department careers page ↗Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services protects a mix of rural, residential, and low-rise commercial communities in northwest Georgia, roughly 40 miles north of Atlanta off I-75. Over the decades it absorbed the fire departments of Adairsville, Emerson, Euharlee, Kingston, Taylorsville, White, and the unincorporated county into one unified system.
The department operates 14 manned stations and delivers fire suppression, rescue, early EMS intervention, fire prevention, and hazardous materials response. Its coverage area includes Lake Allatoona, with roughly 12,000 acres of water, 270 miles of shoreline, and eight marinas.
From a single station staffed by civil defense volunteers in 1971, the organization has become a full-service county fire department serving both longtime rural residents and the growing communities along the Atlanta commuter corridor.
