About Liberty County Fire Services

Liberty County Fire Rescue provides round-the-clock fire and rescue protection for the communities surrounding Midway and Hinesville, Georgia, from a network of eight fire stations. Four of those stations - Lake George, West End, Miller Park/HQ, and Islands - are staffed by career (full-time and part-time) personnel, while four reserve sub-stations at Isle of Wight, Fleming, Gumbranch City Hall, and Colonel's Island round out the coverage area. The department has grown substantially in recent years to keep pace with the county's needs.

Beyond structural and wildland fire suppression, crews handle vehicle extrication and entrapment calls, first-responder medical calls, and public fire safety education, and the department maintains its own Fire Marshal's Division for prevention and code enforcement. The department is rated ISO Class 4/4X for fire protection and responds to roughly 1,500 emergency calls a year, dispatched through a communications center staffed around the clock.
