The Plainfield Fire Protection District — motto "Duty. Honor. Integrity. Trust." — provides emergency medical, fire, fire-prevention, and rescue services to the Village of Plainfield and portions of unincorporated Will and Kendall counties in Illinois. It protects about 54 square miles with roughly 60,000 residents and provides mutual aid as a member of MABAS Division 15.
The district employs 89 full-time personnel: 78 shift firefighters — all certified firefighters and licensed paramedics — divided across three shifts at four fire stations, plus 11 headquarters staff. Its fire-prevention personnel conduct inspections of industrial, commercial, multi-family, and school occupancies and deliver extinguisher training and school programs. The district also runs a Cadet program.
