It is staffed by 87 full-time employees and 6 part-time employees operating out of four fire stations, with a fifth station slated to open in 2026.
GFD protects a 25-square-mile response area with a permanent resident population of more than 68,000, plus a large daytime visitor population drawn by the city's dense retail corridor, which includes Indiana's second-largest enclosed shopping mall.
