Department careers page ↗The Radcliff Fire Department serves the city of Radcliff, a home-rule city in Hardin County adjacent to the U.S. Army's Fort Knox, along with Fort Knox, Vine Grove, and the surrounding area. The department operates out of a headquarters station and one sub-station, running nine pieces of fire apparatus plus two mobile units dedicated to hazardous materials response and specialized rescue work.
Crews respond to structure, vehicle, and brush fires and any incident involving a fire threat, and train extensively in vehicle and heavy rescue, hazardous materials releases, trench rescue, and confined space entry, alongside first aid and CPR. With run volume described as ever-increasing, the department has emphasized continually expanding members' training and expertise.
Beyond emergency response, the department runs several community-facing fire-prevention efforts, including school programs using Sparky's Hazard House, a free Citizens' Fire Academy that walks residents through daily firefighter life, the Knox Box rapid-entry program for businesses (run jointly with the State Fire Marshal's Office and a local Walmart), and a volunteer application pathway for residents who want to contribute to the department.
