Department careers page ↗The Annapolis Fire Department provides emergency medical services, fire suppression, and public safety to the residents and visitors of Maryland's capital city on the Chesapeake Bay. It is a career department that formed its first all-Annapolis recruit class in July 2008.
Operations are built around 3 engine companies, 2 truck companies, and 4 advanced life support paramedic units, backed by a rescue/hazmat squad and a fire boat for the city's extensive waterfront.
Beyond emergency response, the department runs fire prevention, life safety education, fire investigation, and public education programs, and carries an ISO Class 1 classification.
