Department careers page ↗The North Attleborough Fire Department serves a community of about 30,800 residents from three fire stations, responding to more than 5,000 calls for service each year. Its apparatus includes two engines, a ladder truck, two paramedic ambulances, and a shift commander vehicle.
The department is a firefighter/paramedic operation: EMS is central to its identity. Two ambulances run 24 hours a day delivering Advanced Life Support, and the medics assigned to them cross-staff Engine 2 for fire suppression. The roster of 63 includes 47 paramedics and 10 EMT-basics.
Operations are organized into four divisions: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention, and Emergency Management. Headquarters is at 50 Elm Street, with a second staffed station on Kelley Boulevard.

North Attleborough hires for a combined Firefighter/Paramedic/EMT role. Candidates must hold at least an EMT license (paramedic preferred) along with a valid driver's license and CPR certification, and must live within 30 miles of the town line. The process includes a CORI background check, medical and psychological evaluations, the HRD Physical Abilities Test, an EMS general knowledge test, and completion of a Fire Recruit Training Academy, followed by a one-year probationary period.

Benefits
Paramedic stipend of 21% and EMT-Basic stipend of 15.5%. Education reimbursement up to $6,000 for college, up to $1,000 for Fire Pro board certifications, and up to $1,000 for passing the interdepartmental fitness test. Daily overtime opportunities are available.
New hires must complete a Fire Recruit Training Academy and a one-year probationary period.
