About Center Line Public Safety Department

The Center Line Department of Public Safety serves the City of Center Line, Michigan, a compact community in Macomb County just north of Detroit. Rather than running separate police and fire agencies, the city uses a combined public safety model in which sworn officers are trained to perform both law-enforcement and firefighting roles.

The department runs a 24-hour operation out of a single facility at 7070 E Ten Mile Road, covering emergency response, dispatch, and a range of community programs including a K-9 team, Neighborhood Watch, and resident safety initiatives. Its dispatch center recently adopted "Prepared Live," a system that lets dispatchers receive livestream video, multimedia, and real-time location from mobile callers.

Firefighting coverage is delivered through a mix of full-time public safety officers and paid on-call firefighters.
