About Farmington Hills Fire Department

The Farmington Hills Fire Department protects the city of Farmington Hills in southeastern Michigan, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services as first responders, fire prevention, safety education, and fire code enforcement.

The department operates from five fire stations staffed around the clock, using a combination of full-time career firefighters and part-paid (paid-on-call) personnel. Career firefighters are cross-trained as licensed paramedics, reflecting the department's strong EMS role.

In October 2025 the department reopened its renovated headquarters at 31455 W. 11 Mile Rd., a grant-funded project that added over 3,000 square feet and a tech-enabled Emergency Operations Center.
