About Grand Blanc Township Fire Department

Grand Blanc Township Fire Department is a combination (career and part-time) agency in Genesee County, Michigan, tracing its roots to 1924 when the township bought its first fire engine, a Model T. It has grown into a modern operation running two stations along the S. Saginaw and E. Baldwin corridors.

The department protects Grand Blanc Township and the City of Grand Blanc, responding to structure fires, vehicle and wildland fires, hazmat incidents, water rescues, and fire inspections. All members are certified Michigan firefighters and NIMS compliant.

Beyond its own borders, the department provides mutual aid to 25 neighboring fire departments across Genesee County, an area home to roughly 315,000 residents. Five of its members are accredited instructors at the Genesee County Fire Academy, giving the department an outsized role in training the region's firefighters.
