About Warren Fire Department

The Warren Fire Department operates six fire stations around the clock, providing fire suppression, prevention, investigation and education, hazardous materials and technical rescue response, and emergency medical services to the city of Warren. The department is the largest public EMS provider in Macomb County, running seven transporting ambulances and six Advanced Life Support fire engines staffed by firefighter-paramedics, and responds to more than 20,000 calls a year, including roughly 13,000 EMS transports.

Beyond emergency response, the department runs a free residential smoke-detector installation program, offers station tours and classroom fire-safety education, and serves as a designated Safe Delivery site under Michigan's Safe Delivery of Newborns Law. The department also fields a drone team of 21 FAA Part 107-licensed pilots operating a fleet of thermal-imaging and FPV aircraft to support fireground assessment, search and rescue, hazmat response, and technical rescue training. Two new fire stations, each valued at roughly $8.5 million, were under construction with an expected opening in November 2025.
