About Henderson Fire Department

The Henderson Fire Department (HFD) provides all-hazard emergency response to the City of Henderson, including fire suppression, advanced life support and paramedic transport, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and search and rescue on the city's recreational trail system. Fire/Rescue Operations is organized into three battalions across thirteen stations, and the department runs twelve transport-capable Paramedic Rescue units around the clock.

HFD describes its foundational philosophy as existing because "People Matter," and says it behaves with compassion, integrity and respect, built on standardization, consistency, coordination and accountability. The department holds an ISO Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating of 1 -- the highest classification an ISO-rated community can receive for its fire suppression delivery system -- and is a multi-accredited agency, having earned its 6th consecutive Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) reaccreditation and its 10th consecutive Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) reaccreditation for its ambulance service, one of only 31 agencies nationwide to reach 10 consecutive CAAS accreditations.

HFD recruits for Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, and Paramedic Ambulance Operator positions through its dedicated JoinHendersonFire.com recruitment site, which walks candidates through minimum requirements, the hiring process, and academy training.

MissionTo provide exceptional public services because people matter.
