Department careers page ↗Before 1969, three independent volunteer companies — Henrietta Fire Company #1, the West Henrietta Fire Department, and the Genesee Valley Fire Department — protected the Town of Henrietta on their own. That year, the Town of Henrietta consolidated the three companies by resolution into the Henrietta Fire District; all three legacy companies still operate today as part of the district's station network.
Today the district is a combination department providing fire protection and first-response EMS across a 41-square-mile response area covering all of Henrietta and the western portion of Brighton, home to more than 52,000 full-time residents and an estimated daily population of up to 275,000 commuters and travelers. Coverage includes 21 miles of the New York State Thruway (I-90), 11 miles of Interstate 390, and more than 16 miles of navigable waterway between the Erie Canal and the Genesee River, and the district participates in a countywide mutual aid agreement across Monroe County.

New hires complete NYS-mandated firefighter training exceeding 400 hours plus roughly 200 hours of EMS training toward EMT certification, and are also nationally certified.
