About Elizabeth City Fire Department

The Elizabeth City Fire Department protects the seat of Pasquotank County in northeastern North Carolina. Established in 1837, it carries what the department calls a long, proud history of providing quality services to the community.

Beyond fire suppression, the department provides medical first response, fire investigations, pre-incident planning, inspections, child safety seat programs, smoke detector installation, and community fire-safety education through its Fire Prevention Bureau.

Mission"To provide the highest professional level of life and property safety through the extension of Life Safety Operations, Fire prevention, and Public Education Programs."
