About Durant Fire Department

The Durant Fire Department is a three-station department serving the city of Durant in south-central Oklahoma, providing all-hazards emergency response to residents, workers, students, and visitors. Firefighters cover structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and specialized rescue calls, with many personnel cross-trained as EMTs and paramedics.

Beyond emergency response, the department runs a community-facing safety and education program, including station and truck tours, fire extinguisher training, smoke alarm installation (with a dedicated program for the hearing impaired), and child car seat installation, along with a fire investigation division that looks into suspected arson. The department's ISO Class 3/3Y rating reflects its fire protection capability, water resources, and 911 dispatch coordination.

MissionThe Durant Fire Department stands committed to the protection of life, health, property and the environment for the citizens of Durant and those visiting our city.
