About North Myrtle Beach Fire-Rescue

North Myrtle Beach Fire-Rescue operates out of five stations along the Grand Strand: Ocean Drive, Cherry Grove, Windy Hill, Tidewater, and Barefoot Resort. Crews work a 24-hours-on, 48-hours-off schedule across three shifts of about 20 personnel each, including a Battalion Chief, Fire Lieutenants, Engineers, and Firefighter/EMTs, with heavy rescue capability cross-staffed from Station 1's engine crew.

The department is organized into the Fire Chief's Office, Operations, the Fire Marshal's Office, and Support Services. The Fire Marshal's Office handles code enforcement, plan review, inspections, and cause-and-origin investigations, while Support Services runs the Fire Rescue Training Unit and a dedicated Fire Training Center with live-burn, rope rescue, confined-space, and SCBA confidence props.
