About Greeneville Fire Department

Greeneville Fire Department (GFD) is a career fire-rescue agency serving the Town of Greeneville, Tennessee out of four strategically located stations. The department holds an Insurance Services Office (ISO) Classification of 2, reflecting a well-equipped, well-staffed fire protection system, and runs a fleet that includes two engines, a quint ladder, a 100-foot aerial tower, and a rescue engine.

GFD employs 49 full-time members organized under a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, and Administrative Chief, supported by a Fire Marshal, three Shift Commanders (Battalion Chiefs), three Station Superintendent/Company Officers (Captains), nine Company Officers (Lieutenants), and twenty-four firefighters. How to get hired

GFD hires entry-level firefighters through the Town of Greeneville's civil-service process, run in coordination with Town Human Resources.
