Department careers page ↗The Nashville Fire Department (NFD) delivers fire suppression, emergency medical services, and technical rescue to residents and visitors across Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee's consolidated metropolitan government.
The department maintains a wide range of specialized capabilities, including EMS transport, hazardous materials operations, marine operations, urban search and rescue, technical rescue, and the Tennessee Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (TN-HART).
NFD operates its own Training Academy and runs a Fire Recruit Training Program to prepare new firefighters, alongside a Fire Marshal's Office and dedicated operations divisions.
