Department careers page ↗Plano Fire-Rescue is the customer-driven, all-career fire department serving the City of Plano in Collin County, Texas. More than 330 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel respond to emergencies from 13 strategically located fire stations covering the city's roughly 72 square miles.
The department protects a community of more than 270,000 residents and is organized across several divisions spanning the Office of the Fire Chief, Emergency Services (EMS, Emergency Operations, Special Operations, and Training) and Support Services (Administrative Services, Fire Prevention, and Logistics), along with the Fire Marshal's Office.
Plano's fire service traces its roots to 1887, when the Eclipse Fire Company became the city's first recognized fire suppression service and businessman J. A. Moreman was appointed its first Fire Chief. The department commemorated its 125th anniversary with a published history book documenting that heritage.
