The City of Cadillac is accepting applications for on-call firefighters.  Experience preferred, but not necessary.  Extensive training provided by the City.  Potential opportunity to earn Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications.

On-call Firefighters perform various duties associated with fire protection and prevention, emergency medical intervention, natural disaster response, and hazardous materials response.  On-call Firefighters serve the community in the saving of lives and property and to assist in general maintenance and operation of equipment and facilities.

Hourly pay is $16.00 for training hours and general assistance work.  Candidates who possess a minimum of a Firefighter I Certification will receive $24.00 per hour for all emergency calls.

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to respond to calls.
  • Must reside and/or work in the City of Cadillac or the four surrounding townships.
