Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) is a career fire and EMS agency serving the Spokane Valley area of eastern Washington. What began in 1940 with a handful of firefighters and three engines has grown into a modern department of about 165 firefighters operating from 10 fire stations.
The department covers approximately 75 square miles and serves a population of roughly 140,000, delivering all-hazards emergency response, EMS, and community risk reduction.
SVFD organizes its work across Operations, Prevention, Support Services, Information Systems, Human Resources, Community Affairs, and Finance, and pursues fire service accreditation as part of its commitment to continuous improvement.
