Summary of Position

The City of Monroe is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter. This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community in a meaningful way while gaining valuable training and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to 3–5 emergency calls per week
  • Attend required training (2 Tuesday nights/month)
  • Maintenance Crew (2 Thursday nights/month)
  • Participate in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical operations
  • Maintain readiness of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
  • Engage in community fire prevention and public education efforts

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - Age 18 or older - High school diploma or GED - Valid driver's license and clean driving record - Physically capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs - Able to complete: - Wisconsin Firefighter I certification within 18 months - Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification within 18 months - CPR certification within 12 months Benefits: - Hands-on training and certifications at no cost - Real-world emergency response experience - Connection with a close-knit, mission-driven team - Opportunity to explore a fire or EMS career path - Pride in serving your community in meaningful ways
